Big River Results!

Thank you to all who came to The Countess booth at the Big River Steampunk Festival in Hannibal, MO over Labor Day weekend!

This ended an incredibly busy summer and has kicked off a fall full of events as well. I have several follow up blogs coming this week, just to catch up on all that’s happened.

First up, Big River. It was a smashing success. We arrived about 8:30am Sat morning and immediately started getting the booth set up.

Emily and Gary from New London

Professor Jefferson Parker and Mrs. Maddy Parker
My Auntie Di and niece Lauren (Lady Lo) were great helpers. By 9:30a, shoppers were already coming in to look at the steamy fabulous finds. The booth was so busy that we decided to stay open until 7pm. Auntie Di made a food run to Mark Twain Dinette and we had some of the best catfish ever.

That eve we checked into our hotel and crashed. I had so many sales that I had to create a few more items to sell while resting in the hotel room. I sold out of almost all my corsets and bustle skirts.

Gary Michelle-Boner won the mustache contest.

Sunday was almost as busy. We sold a lot of antique and new jewelry. I got a lot of leads on pet portraits. We closed at six and ran off to Fiddlesticks, just outside of our hotel. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was to die for. Then it was off to the Riverboat cruise with Doc Phineas and the Steampunk Stompers. We enjoyed the river on the upstairs deck for the first hour. On the upper deck:

Lighthouse in the distance:

We’re on a riverboat with hot air ballon rides back on shore and a train coming. Could it get any more steampunk?:

We then went downstairs for drinks and dancing. A rousing good time was had by all! Dancing with Doc:

Monday was a bit slow, but we still had sales and wrapped up a weekend of glorious weather. Thank you to all who came out!

Eugena B. Austin won the booth give away goody bag. Congratulations!

Thank you for reading!
