BUT this is not just a short story, it is a good sized novella of almost 100 pages and the first individual story of Will’s to be in paperback. It is in Amazon’s 2019 Pen to Publish contest, so any reads and reviews would be appreciated!
Again, so much going on that I’m am playing catch up with posts! Last Friday I attended the Time Travelers Ball that benefitted the Tower Grove Neighborhoods CDC. This not for profit revitalizes neighborhoods in the St. Louis in a myriad of ways. The Ball is their annual major fundraiser to support their cause.
One of my best friends, designer Michele Berhorst helps with the events branding and promotion each year. So with VIP tickets in hand we enjoyed a spectacular evening with people dressed up from all eras, but of course I was thrilled to see a lot of steampunks! We of course did our own steampunk gunslinger and airship pilot. Below is a montage of steampunk dressed guests that came for the event:
More details coming to Steampunk Journal! And yes, more new articles as well with their new format!

A few words on Giving Tuesday:
Every year I donate 1-2 big portraits to Stray Rescue and this year I donated a pet portrait certificate to Penned Con’s purpose Action for Autism.
I moved this year so I was able to donate a ton of books, clothing and household items I didn’t need. I am grateful for the things I have and feel blessed to share my art. I may not have extra $$ to give at this time, but I am happy to see how far my work goes in helping those in need including the four footed kind! Thank you to all who gave what you could. So many worthy organizations need help.
Yes, more big stuff is coming. I’m sitting on some really cool news, but soon I’ll be able to tell every about a great feature I’m in. 😉

Well, a week ago this past Monday brought an unexpected early snow to casa de Countess. It started as freezing rain, then quickly turned to more snow than predicted. I was at the Garden as the rain changed over to snow.
By the time I got to the Museum, the yard was in full winter wonderland effect.
I snatched up a spaghetti squash to prep for later that night; details coming in my next blog along with many other awesome details!
As always, thank you for reading,

It has been an absolutely crazy week. Monday alone was just a weird mix. There’s a lot of alliteration with M and S words here, so read on…
I’m going to throw in a few previews of blogs to come because so much happened…
It was Veteran’s Day in the US, so a lot of businesses and schools were closed already. But hey, throw in a freakishly early first snow storm of the season, and things got really interesting really fast. It started as freezing rain and the predicted dusting of snow became 2”. Couple pics from at the Botanical Gardens and Campbell House:
By nightfall, the clouds cleared for a spectacular meteor that was captured on cameras all over the city!
On the way inside to my apartment, I picked up one of our spaghetti squash from all fall display in the Campbell House Garden and decided to cook it up before it went bad:
I’ll have more news on the Campbell’s in upcoming blogs.
Last week was also the anniversary of my mom’s passing. Her birthday would’ve been tomorrow, so she’s still on my mind, always in November. So on the 5th, this was the first thing I was grateful for:
As I continue to write and work, I’ve found some fun and unexpected sources of inspiration. I’m not the biggest Post Malone fan, but his latest song “Circles” is crazy good and the video is so creative. If your big into Ren stuff, check this out:
Another “M” inspiration comes from “Maestro”, this incredible video short was really well done and gave me more ideas for a children’s piece I’m working on. Watch it here:
Right now I am scrambling to get many things updated, moved to new platforms, and back online. I’m still not satisfied with some of the changes, but I’m making progress. If things go well as planned, 2020 is going to be an insanely awesome year!
As always, thank you for reading,
